Easy Fondant RecipeNeed fondant and not able to get a batch pre-made from the store? Try this easy fondant recipe made from marshmallows. The most time consuming part of making this recipe is kneading the dough and letting it rest before using it. Be sure to add in some extra time when you are working with this recipe.
Ingredients:
Directions: Step 1: Place marshmallows in a medium size glass bowl. Add water and microwave for 20 – 30 seconds. (You may need to adjust the amount of water. Start with 2 tablespoons at first.) Marshmallows will soften and just begin to puff up. Step 2: Remove from oven and stir with a spoon coated with shortening until well combined. Step 3: Add powdered sugar gradually, stirring well after each addition. When the mixture starts to hold together and is no longer sticky, turn out onto your work surface and knead with your hands. Be sure your hands and the work surface are well-greased with shortening. To Store the Fondant | Grease the dough ball with shortening and place in a zip-lock bag. To Use the Fondant | Remove fondant from plastic bag to soften in microwave. Then roll out on a board sprinkled with cornstarch.
